Following Doris's death, Alexander Bell collected a number of her writings that related to their family life and had them formally published as this book. Copies of this book where given to their children Alexander (Alan), Colin, Jeremy and Stephen so they all had a connection to their mother and her work.
In recent times this book has proved a valuable insight for us all into the life and times, and the family environment that shaped the lives of these four men. Presenting fascinating anecdotes about their young lives that seemed to perfectly encapsulate their respective characters.
A full transcript of this book, images of original manuscripts (as available) and the book itself are appearing here. though first I give you this review from the Yorkshire Evening Post where so much of her work was published.
Further down my representation of the book starts and also there is a link to pieces of her work which involved David and Peter, but Alexander chose not to include in the published book.

Not all the tales involving David and Peter made it into the final published book. As I discover these odd pieces of writing involving these characters they will appear here.
