Winifred Holdens " A diary of my travel to Australia and the Orient SS Ormonde (15 000 tons) leaving Tilbury 25 May 1929".
Transcripts and Images of this original travel diary.
Winifred Holden 22 April 1899 - 14 October 1991.
Winifred was Doris' younger sister, and following Doris' death in 1937 she became quite involved in the up bringing of the young Bell boys.
After the untimely death of my brother Alexander David Bell in 2023, I came into possession of a number of additional "Holden - Bell" manuscripts, that like the Doris papers, he had been holding following our fathers death. I have decided to add them as side pieces to the Doris story to bring new perspective on these interesting characters in our family history.
This is work in progress - Winifred's diary is a longhand journal so a more challenging task to transcribe and present than the typescript of Doris' and Alexander Brown Bells manuscripts.
